Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF)

The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) is Australia’s pre-eminent ovarian cancer research body. Our goal is to raise ovarian cancer awareness and vital funds for the development of an early detection test that will save women’s lives.

We receive no government funding and rely on the support of our community and business supporters to assist in driving our research forward.

Did you know?

  • Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death of all gynaecological cancers.

  • Unlike other cancers, there is NO early detection test.

  • Ovarian cancer has a lower survival rate than both breast and cervical cance

  • 80% of women are already in the advanced stages of the disease when diagnosed.

  • Over 50% of the community incorrectly believe a pap smear diagnoses ovarian cancer.

  • Without at least one healthy ovary a child will not be born.

  • The key to changing these statistics and giving women with ovarian cancer a better long-term outlook is early detection.

  • You don’t have to be a scientist to make a difference.

  • Research is the answer.
